Friday

Mmm

Haven't played much today. Watched Tuff's 2p2 game video. CTS destroyed that table but I really wanted Tony to win. At least he got a royal..."Look at it!". BT_RainMan22 is a fucking weak idiot who I've buddylisted. cts made obvious squeeze plays on him and he kept folding. Plus he was minraising SCs and other dumbshit. Watched HSP204. I can see why HSNL think that the Party 10/20 dragons would destroy that table. I'm not so sure but Laak is probably playing close to how they play and is doing very well. Antonio continues to be unlucky as shit with QQ+.

Sitting in a game for which I have over 40 buyins allows me to play pretty darn good. I'm still 17/9 though, even though I feel I am "raising the hell out of it". My notable hand of the day so far...(not that I am a huge favourite or anything, I didn't noticed he had an OESD at the time so I thought he was totally retarded)

HSNL [censored] June

Some gold in that thread.

Brag of guy lunching with Ms. India.

KingNeo is seriously retarded/unfunny. Variance:

"Just to let you know she isn't that hot and my 2 previous girlfriends were hotter. I.E. this statement " and if i [censored] her...shell be the hottest girl...u or i or any1 from hsnl has [censored]" is invalid.

Okay, bud, I'll believe you.

Then the beat:

No, badguy got rain checked very sweetly by the [censored] broad...so now..badguy is determined to [censored] this [censored] and nut on her [censored] pretty lil face cuz well badguy is that [censored] badass

Deep, omg!

I am convinced that this is AA. Absolutely. Which is why I don't play deepstacked poker. Obviously for 100BB I am more than happy getting it all-in. 300BB and the third nuts doesn't look so good. Yeah, he could have QJ, JJ, or AxKs but he'd have to be a total idiot to lose 300BB with those. Maybe I'm reading too much into "alot more cautious". Oh, does that mean he won't stack off with a 5-high flush on a paired board? RLY?

Fuck knows what a "cautious calling station's" range is there. If it's any Queen or any flush then Queens full is a monster. I really don't think it is. Possibly he has a King-high flush. Possibly he called flop with JJ because he's a calling station...AQ/QJ possible too. For my definition of cautious he's got AA/AQ/QJ/JJ here. Preflop makes it likely to be AA/JJ, possibly AQ. Everything about it screams AA to me but whatever.

Looks like hero pushed and villain correctly folded. lolz, how wrong am I? Apparently his range was way wider than I could possibly imagine. Obviously he was willing to play a big pot with any Queen or any flush.

I see I have a lot to learn about 6max and relative hand strengths.

Meh. Anyway, what I hate about deepstacked poker is if you get outdrawn you're fucked because that exact situation will not arise again very often. However, for 100BB it's just a case of uttering a "fuck me to tears" and rebuying because that exact same situation will present itself very shortly. Waiting for the same thing to occur when you're deepstacked could take a very long time indeed.

Saturday

And furiouser

Watched Tokyo Drift. Exactly what I expected: A film even more retarted than the first two. Of course, I watched it so...Still some very, very nice eye candy, and if there are gaggles of 9's hanging around in Tokyo parking garages I am so going. Oh, it has cars, a bad boy hick, and Yakuza. There was some stupid plot that ended up with the hick racing the Yakuza brat so he and his girl could go free. Whatever.

Changed my PP name. Hopefully it will help me get more action. Having a women's name might have made fish less likely to call ("Oh, she can't be bluffing"). Probably not. Shame my accountname is still the rubbishy girly one. I might try and use that as an excuse to close that account and open a new one with rakeback. Although, while I'm not playing that many hands a day, the rakeback I'm missing out on is miniscule (about a buyin a month).

Not to be results orientated but I turned a set in my first pot and VB river. Guy had trips top kicker and didn't raise...meh. Then I flopped a set of ducks against AQ, Q2x flop. B3B all-in and called.

But then I just gave fifty back at 400NL through blinds and looking for a set. I going to try and stick to 200NL for now until I have a BR that I can drop 3 buyins @ 400NL without getting overly distraught. I may still hit 2/4 tables that I think offer good implied odds. Oh, I see someone I buddy listed last night and a 1/2 LAGtard on one table. Shame it's got the smallest avg. pot on the list. LAGtard in theory is easy to play against, although to extract the most you have to let him keep firing and call down. He plays 23/17, pots flop, pots turn, pushes river. Loves to C/R flop too. 53% att. to steal. Personally I think he is far too aggressive and his strategy should be easily exploitable by a tighter but equally aggressive player. A big part of that would be reraising him preflop, since he invariably folds his SCs. Do that enough and he's going to start calling down light but provided your hand selection is tighter it shouldn't really matter much.

Decided to just go to bed. New day and lagtard is still multitabling 400NL. I sit at one of his tables because it has the largest avg. pot. First hand I see he calls a CO raise from the SB with AT, flop is A45 (45 are spades), he checkraises the CO's weak cbet...CO thinks and pushes, lagtard calls. CO has AQ and I resist the urge to berate lagtard. CO either had great reads or played that like shit, I don't care because lagtard played it so much worse.

~20-25BB avg. pots. Zzzz. Same thing last night which is why I went to bed. Where are the gamblers? I hate playing smallball.

Where is "13th District"? No torrents, nothing on usenet. WTF? Nothing to watch.

Eng/Ecu not so good. Should be 0-1 but we got lucky. Very nice Beckham goal. Deserved victory. Ashley Cole had a great game. Time wasting yellow cards were pathetic. "I think Sven's discovered a new system. 4-5-2. Rooney counts as 2."

Hol/Por tonight. Don't think the BBC are streaming it. FiveLive sucks.

Lol, bluffed a 100NL stack off to the biggest ever calling station with AKo. Yes, Q6o TPNK is a good hand. A few hands later he leaves. Obviously. Buddylisted.

Then I "bad beat" a shortstack with AQs v. AKo on a KT4s flop. Combi-draw = nuts. Yes, that 54/46 is such a bad beat. I hate shortstacks anyway. Says he's dropped ~$1500 in the last week. I feel no sympathy for those one street wonders. If I am forced to play postflop, which I am not particularly good at, then they should be too. This is not fucking bingo. I was sitting at a table with 3 shortstacks (uh, yeah, good table selection I know) and limped TT in EP. One shortstack raises and the other two call. I felt like pushing but I folded. I really should have put LRR them all-in. TT is well ahead of a random shortstacks all-in range.

Wee, set miner stacks me at 50NL 6max. My RR preflop did kind of suck. I c/r the turn all-in which is kind of silly against an unknown. I did play tight super-aggressive at the lower limits and...it didn't have good results. Oh well, my TAG game needs work but that's nothing I didn't already know.

PinkPrincess1988's shortstacking results seem to be pretty hot. AJs+ 66+ is a pretty small edge to be pushing. Need a huge roll to weather that variance.

Watched The Matador. Good buddy flick. Brosnan is delightful as a sexually depraved assassin. The other guy (Kinnear?) is good as the unlucky businessman. Sex scenes were pretty funny. I actually think Kinnear's wife was one of the hottest women in it.

Hmmph

+1 buyin tonight, time to quit my day job. Probably closer to 2 if I had not: Been rivered for ~$100, paid off quads, valuebet queens full instead of pushing so only aces full could call, ran stupid bluffs against calling stations. The last one seems to be a leak I've developed. I have a very low PFR and rarely steal so I've been trying to steal with small PPs. Result is bluffing off ~$50 tonight. Of course, when I did it the other day and flopped a set I got no action. Oh, and I pushed TT on a AJTJQ board instead of valuebetting. He either had no King or he wasn't dumb enough to call for a split.

So I ran/played very mediocre but it's better than losing or breaking even. Marginally.

Thursday

Game selection

England should beat Ecuador (I always thought Christina Aguilera had Purto Rican origins) on Sunday...and probably face Holland in the quarters (I don't think Portugal will beat them)...and then Brazil. Um, right. Obviously they'll lose on Sunday the way they're playing right now. No way can we beat a good team like Holland or Portugal playing the way we are. Oh well.

Um, I lost as a 96.5% on the flop with a set. Pretty much sums up my month. Got KK v. AA, flopped a King. Left money on the table on a scary (3 flush/3 Broadway) board. Only 25BB but it adds up. If only turn was any non-flush card.

Second series of HSP is fucking hilarious. I am literally laughing out loud. Matusow makes for great enterainment value. Imagine if Hellmuth was there too. Farha has been...crap so far. Grinder has dominated, though, a few costly mistakes but he's still the big winner this session. Laak is cool, and Tilly actually looks semi-hot. I prefer Alaei's (sp?) girlfriend, though, even if she does dress quite prudishly. Some stunning cocktail waitresses there too. Antonio seems to be trying to work his magic on them and who can blame him. Negreanu is impressive, as always, and camp as fuck. I cannot wait for Mike to blowup!

I am making so many mistakes in this post it's not even funny. Time to go to bed.

Ebay: Bought a gold D20 dice for fun and randomising poker decisions (???). Might buy a Zocchihedron too but the ones in the UK on ebay look to be imitations...and buying one from the US looks to be pretty damn expensive. Talking about expensive...if/when I play live a gold coin would be an awesome chip protector. But obviously sovereigns/eagles are expensive as fuck. An '82 full sovereign is ~£205 and 1oz gold eagles are ~$600. Buffalo are ~$800. Then, of course, there are 1oz platinum eagles which are ~$1500. That's a lot of coin for a chip protector. Bling, bling! If only I played good enough to justify/afford one :)

And, oooh yeah, the evening games on Party suck thanks to the football. Still a few tards but not that many. Meh.

Sunday

Eh

I made a friend this morning but since I mostly got dealt crap like 92o I managed to bleed away $50 at the table. However, I did hit a straight at another table making it a +$50 session. Yes, I am quitting my fucking day job.

Donkament: Get AA, reraise a minraise, he calls. KQJ flop. Guy open pushes. Sweet. I think I'll fold and get it in where I have more than 6 outs.

Don't know if I fancy England much. Some of those girls a quite hot but a few are pretty busted.

Watched Cars last night. Much better than I expected but it's not one of my favourite Pixar films. Not overly fond of Owen Wilson.

Watching a donk destroy the table by cracking Aces (all-in pf KK) and Kings (22 hit on the turn) like it wasn't no thing. Donk calls my desperate push with a dominant hand.

Um, shower is running cold which is fustrating. Faucet is running hot, though.

Sweet, maniac at 400NL table. Sweet, I lose money despite flopping a set and the nut straight. Meanwhile he dumps $1750 on the table with bottom pair and the like. However, against me he plays perfectly; raising when I miss and folding when I hit. Yes, -$37 on that table. Biggest losers: AKo (-$57), 97o (-$19 misclick on the flop), ATo, 77, 99, AQo, 33, 55, blah, blah. Won $95 with set of 9's, $37 with flopped straight, and $14 from a split pot. Frickin' sweet. Oh, and I played a turbo donkament but busted when AQo > KK...with a Q-high straight. Fuck poker.

My buddy was 96/51/2 and on my left. He donated $850, $750, $270, and $250 to 4 others...and was "up" $56 on me.

Friday

zzz

"ty" said the donk after he called my push with KTs v. AQo. Of course he makes a fullhouse...

Joined cardrunners and finally got the videos working after installing a new XP VM. I get to see GP stacking off with A6o v. ATo in a 200NL 6max game. Like he said, terrible play. However, I have learned a few things from his videos so far...he says folding 88 on a JJ224 board where 55 scopes. Also, GP pushed JJ on an undercard flop against TT which I can't imagine being overly profitable, even at 6max.

One thing I will stop doing is using autoactions, it gives away far too much information. Best to not act instantly and betray the strength of my hand.

Damn, very fishy 400NL table but all the fish got busted before I could take a seat. Well, there's one weak player still, maybe two. Actually, I don't really know much about the guy who stacked the fish but he put in $50 preflop with JTo and flopped top two, rivered a boat. Doesn't scream of good play, and maybe the guy that acted after him had a set. I doubt it, however, since he was a huge fish. Shit, I could have used some of that ~$200 avg. pot action.

I've been offered 20% rakeback on PP but I have to create a new account. I'm not entirely sure how these things work and my total rake according to PT is only ~$200 in 5k hands this month. Although, at 400NL+ it does become worthwhile.

No good games for awhile...I made one buyin earlier with only going to showdown once. Played QQ aggressively once from LP and miraculously got an undercard flop. AKs, the shortstack represented the flushdraw, pushing all-in when it hit on the river. I was more than happy to call with Ace-high flush. Flopped quads twice. Limped TT from the SB and got no action. QTo from the BB and QQQ flop. Flop goes check, bet (me), call, raise, call, call. Turn: Half pot bet, I call instead of raising, call. River: Check, bet, fold, fold. Some dickhead in the chat goes "$USER has the Q!" on the turn, uh, STFU? Should probably get his chat banned, fucking cunt. I'm pretty sure SB would have fired again and the calling station would have overcalled.

Played a speed SNG bubbled when 92o > ATo, obviously. I don't blame the BB for calling (1k/2k blinds, 2600 stack) but jesus, come on. Then my 43s failed to draw out on 85o. To be fair I did get lucky with K2s v KTs earlier so I guess all things come full circle. Had AQo twice, no AK, no big pairs. GG donkament.

Ugh, two good decisions, two bad results. That's poker. First, I call a MP/LP raise with 55 on the button. BB reraises from $20 to $60. Obviously I have to fold because I'm never going to make enough back postflop to justify calling that preflop. 5 on the flop. Second, I limp/call with 99 and miss (obviously). C/F the flop.

I hate people who play AK like that OOP. If I call and hit a set I take their continuation bet unless they decide to bluff. Yet they make QQ and lower shutdown.

Fucking, grr. I think I made a correct fold but it looks like a bluff. I bet $20 into $30 on the river, guy instaraises to $100. Uh? I don't think my crappy two pair is good (K3o on A9K37 board). Felt like he was slowplaying since action went checked flop, bet/raise/smoothcall/fold turn, bet/raise river. Now I've watched the guy he seems to be very, very looose. Can't say whether he is aggressive or not.

Ah, just coming to the end of a typical PP session where I could not flop a pair or a draw, much less a set. My TT hit a great AQxJA board and the calling stations KJ wins. Later calling station calls UTG LRR for 100BB with JJ. Ohh, 55 and a raise in front of me...66A flop. Of course. That's probably undone the mild success I had earlier. What a surprise.

I think I should have looked that guy up with DP. Raising my blocker/VB 5x (3x pot) screams "fold your weak hand" to me.

Two tournaments over in the blink of an eye. AQ > 55, JJ > 88. The eights I could have folded but whatever, I didn't really care at that point.

Two juicy tables on PP but I'm 8th in both waiting lists. Fish'll busto before I sit, I'm sure. Oh, I see the villain that "bluffed" me is still there. Hmm, already the avg. pot is dropping on the 200NL table I thought looked good.

Yep, the avg. pot has dropped $60 at the 400NL table before I could sit. The 200NL dropped $20. Wow, there's a 5/10 game that looks fishy as fuck but I dare not sit. True, I could always buyin for $400 or something but...

Aw, my donky villain is down $700 $800 on the 400NL table. Oh and he's gone.

Wee, sat at a 5/10 table for the first time. Will stay one orbit ($25). Doubt I get a 20BB hand in that time. Ooh, AQo UTG. Normally a fold but I raise and win the blinds. Net -$10 at 5/10.

Get AKo on my last orbit, get called in 3 places. Ugh. I normally cbet this QJx FD flop but 4way? I check flop, one of the blinds leads the turn. Hope you wasted a set, fucker.

I'm sure I'm down on the day but I don't give a shit anymore, I'm going to bed.

Wednesday

EquiDOR

Board: 6s 9c Ts
equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 36.6195 % 36.37% 00.25% { 66 }
Hand 2: 28.6934 % 28.14% 00.55% { TT-99, AsJs, As9s, As8s, As7s, As6s, As5s, As4s, As3s, As2s, KsQs, KsJs, KsTs, Ks9s, Ks8s, Ks7s, Ks6s, Ks5s, Ks4s, Ks3s, Ks2s, QsJs, Qs9s, Js9s, Js8s, 9s8s, 9s7s, 8s7s, 7s5s, 5s4s, T9o }
Hand 3: 34.6872 % 34.13% 00.55% { TT-99, AsKs, AsQs, AsJs, As9s, As8s, As7s, As6s, As5s, As4s, As3s, As2s, KsQs, KsJs, KsTs, Ks9s, Ks8s, Ks7s, Ks6s, Ks5s, Ks4s, Ks3s, Ks2s, QsJs, T9s, 9s8s, 8s7s, T9o, 87o }

I feel better...calling this is breakeven. I still felt sick after giving them both {TT-99, As9s, QsJs, T9s, 9s8s, 87s, T9o, 87o} but I think the ranges above are more likely. Possibly SB (hand3) could be tighter (gap concept) but meh.

Took this evening off...and this morning. Need a break, especially after running so, so bad. Two set over sets too many this week.

NLTAP should be here soon. Hopefully by Friday. Think I'll spend some BBs on cardrunners too. And I've decided to improve my game, and by improve I mean ramp up the aggression. Even if I have to drop down limits, it will be worth it. Right now I do not play enough hands profitably, and when those hands fail to win it is catastrophic. Also, obviously, playing AT+, KJ+ less like SCs will help. Playing SCs better will help. With my stupidly low VPIP I should be opening every hand. I want to shoot for 15/13, obviously only limping hands in EP that can't stand a 3bet. Of course I need to be adaptive, varying my VPIP/PFR according to the table. Right now all I do is nit.

GER-POL was shit.

Tuesday

Bottom set

Set over set but the straight won. "Lucky me". The only time I get action is when I am drawing to one fucking out. Fortunately it was at 400NL so it's a goodly chunk to lose. I guess that's why a bankroll is supposed to be huge and not tiny. I should see why.

Fuckity, fuck. I knew I should have folded. FUCK. Run better forfucksake.

At least I've got the Brazil game streaming at 340kbps.

Not sure whether to post this in MSNL or not. It's kind of dumb. Meh.

Monday

Wow

I keep losing with sets...which is nice. Although, I should have, could have folded since the board was so co-ordinated (66 on 687TA...of course dude had 99 and I payed off his river bet). I feel I played it far too passively, and I think I have to fold the river here 90% of the time. Lost the least...:(

Yup, and there my fishy, bluffing buddy pushes his stack off with K8o...no pair, no draw. Just a free 100BB to some lucky fuck with the balls to call.

And now, because I can't hit a hand that holds up, I have to go to work...and work really sucks.

"Good luck, $USER" indeed.

Sunday

Of course

"Of course", I said, as the river made his 4 card straight against my flopped set in the HU SNG. When your sets are getting cracked HU there isn't much to do but grimace. I'm 0/4 in HUSNG today. I can't say I've been playing brilliantly but whatever.

I'm thinking about getting up earlier to play some light night poker with the Americans. I'm not sure if it's worth it. I have little enough beauty as it is without sacrificing beauty sleep like that.

Woo, I'm 1/5 in HUSNGs. Passive fucker finally flopped something he liked against my nuts. Q8o on Q89 board, I had JTs. Blinds were at 50/100, lol. I hate playing against people that fold too much...because I do it too. Much better to be up against a hyperaggro monkey where a few good calls will finish him.

I also managed to hit a few sets in ring too. IDK, though, I didn't make the most out of the one I actually got action on...but then I see someone take a raise flop, push turn when checked to line and get payed off. lol?

I also got a split pot at 400NL with AQs. Good job I didn't become too weak there.

Saturday

Of course

Set over set...not in my favour. Sums up a brilliant June so far.

Things: Need to valuebet better, need to play AK for stacks at 400NL like the rest of the downies, flopping a pair when raising AK/AQ would be nice. Oh, and hitting sets in raised pots would help my winrate, thank you. Not being set-over-setted would be nice too.

And, no, it does not have to turn around.

Sunday

Folding preflop

22 UTG, I limp, few limpers, then the guy who got check raised on the river and folded raises to $25. I think he's on tilt and unlikely to have anything to pay me off with...so I fold. Flop: 42J. Just as I'm swearing to myself the two guys both go all-in. The callers got a set, I know, and results wise that was a fantastic fold by me. Caller shows JJ, tilto shows KK. I totally misread him but boy am I glad that I did.

Also, I don't know what I was doing not calling for set value enough in that session. I guess I hate money.

Feel the fours

Finally flop a set at 400NL and get action. ~$400 in 40 minutes, woot. I played it softly too but still mangaged to get most of my stack in. He had QQ :) Fours are my second most profitable hand this month.

Action: Two limpers, I limp after, SB raises to $24, folds to me. Flop: 472r. SB bets $61 and I call because 1) the flop is dry and I can slowplay & 2) raising here makes my hand quite transparent. Turn: King. SB checks and I realise that I may have made a mistake. He doesn't like that King one bit. I bet $80 into $183 to convince him to call). River: Six. Check, I bet $200 into $346. The table averages were covering my stack size but I only had $30 left anyway. He calls :))

Things for me to take from this hand: Overcards can kill your action if you decide to slowplay and raises that originate from the blinds when there are a limpers have fantastic implied odds. The latter point is something I've been working on. At lower limits seeing the flop with every PP is essential, calling every raise is mandatory. Against more aggressive opponents, this is not so. If you have limped a PP from EP calling the buttons blind steal does not offer you good implied odds. Likewise, calling someone with a ~20% PFR is no good. However, when the action dictates that the PFR is not raising light, I must call.

Actually, there are a whole number of things I need to add to my game. Yes, yes, I try to minimise variance (HAHA) but such a nittish style is not optimal...and maybe not even profitable at higher limits.

Saturday

OMG!!! Pirates!!!

Well, that didn't take long. I'm glad they bounced back so quickly, even if I rarely use torrents :)

Ugh, thanks to villain getting really sneaky with his KK I get minimum value from the good end of the Aces versus Kings @ 400NL. Action: Idiot limps KK UTG+1, I raise to $30 in LP, idiot calls. Flop: 234, FD (which I don't hold). Checked to me and I bet $40, villain C/R to $125. Er, what? I wimp out and DP and see his KK later in the HH. Yes, that's a great line to take with an overpair. Overpairs are the nuts postflop.

Had I not the luxuary of DP I would have had to call flop and try to get to SD cheaply. GG, tricky, you saved yourself lots of money by overrepresenting your hand.

Also thanks to a run of Aces and Kings at a 200NL table I 3bet so much that one guy pushed TT into my aces. My heart sank when the board was KKxxA but thankfully he was just making a play at me.

Much later: Fucking, god, card dead and the few cards worth playing missed every fucking flop, and the few that hit took down tiny pots. So incredibly fucking standard. Slowly bleeding BBs makes me want to kill people.

I hit two sets: A set of Kings @ 200NL and a set of Fours at 400NL. With the Kings he folded on the flop, would be nice to get set over set for once. With the Fours, FD called the flop and folded to my turn bet. Every PFR I called with a PP I missed.

What a fucking joke

Party is. -2 buyins. Pushed an OESD into a LAGs middle set. I don't normally push those but the fucker is something like 36/30/7.2. As soon as he called, I knew I was beat. That's one. The other was KK v. AA. I took a passive line that wins the most from TT+ but of course he had it. I could have folded but since I had decided to take a passive line to stack TT-QQ I had to see it through. Of course, I could have 3bet pf and then DP'd. I've decided not to be that lame.

Now do people understand why I'm pissed off at a SS cunt stealing half my net profit in an AA v. KK v. K6o matchup? It's because I'm not often on the winning end of it.

Yeah, the LAG that I hate is: 35/27/5. His flop aggression is 7. He almost always pots it with a cbet. Little wonder I decided to play back at him with a primary draw. Of course I push bottom set (TT) into him to. However TT would have hit quads so...

Oh yeah, and 44 hit a set, I lead pot, pfr folded, SS called all-in with a FD. Of course the FD got there so no worries.

So I managed to have a losing session despite hitting set over set. Fucking, fucking meh.

I'm -9.59BB/100 @ 200NL over 900 hands, 24.55BB/100 @ 400NL over 135 in June. Maybe I should stick to the 400s?
